Heroku ACM and Expedited SSL

Heroku Automated Certificate Management (ACM) and Expedited SSL both put a certificate on your app. Use one or the other on an app, not both.

Installing your certificate turns ACM off

When we install your Expedited SSL certificate, Heroku turns ACM off for the app. Heroku does this itself, so you don’t need to run any command. If ACM is on when you set up, your setup page tells you before we install.

If you turn ACM back on

We check every installed certificate once a day. If ACM is back on, we install your Expedited SSL certificate again, and Heroku turns ACM off again.

Switching back to ACM

Remove the add-on first (see Removing Expedited SSL), then turn ACM on:
